I love my body because it is resilient. Every time I wake up, wear clothes that I want to instead of what’s flattering, eat what I want instead of what I “should”, every time I ride a bike, or lay in bed all day, or just exist — my body is resistance.
We had our first day of camp today! Check out our awesome list of rules to keep our space feeling safe!
We had such an awesome first day at band camp, we talked about safer spaces and this is the list of things we are going to do as group to ensure that we all feel respected and safe.
My band just recorded a single! Two songs about seeking love and validation in weird ways from/ hating/ being fucked around by dudes. Please give it a listen and share if you like it….
Music is a way for me to take as much time as i need to explain my messy feelings to myself and the world. It’s cliche, but I can say things in a song that I can’t say, or can’t find the space to say, IRL. So yeah, I hope my bitterness and anger validates your bitterness and anger and you feel less alone and more like punching boys in their stupid clueless faces. Or at least enabled to feel the desire to hit back without shame…
T/cw for lyrics describing physical abuse, violence, and self harm.

I love everyone in this band and I am moving in with Kelly in just two short weeks and I am so stoked to live with such a rad person and have so much inspiration under one roof I can just smell it holy cow.
We filmed our “Chalkboard Confessionals” video during camp last summer (2013). Have you checked it out yet?
Uuugh so excited for camp to start!
At Let it Out! we create a peer supported, safe space environment where teens affected by mood disorders, substance abuse, and other hardships of life can experience a community with like minded people. A creative project such as forming a band provides an opportunity to collaborate in a group, build individual strengths, and learn new methods of coping. In addition to musical programming we provide workshops and facilitate groups in order to foster knowledge and social awareness of mood disorders, substance abuse, and building healthy relationships while providing the tools needed to care for ourselves and support our peers and families.
