Dear Kara:

After reviewing over 60 applications for The Big Idea, with the goal of selecting ten artists for the exhibition in June, I regret to inform you that your work was not among the finalists.
I should note that when selecting artists to include, a significant factor in our decision process was how diverse media and different approaches to the subject would work in concert (and within the space constraints of our exhibition venue).  That to say that though your work was not chosen, its artistic merit was quite evident – and we were pleased to get to know your practice.
The Big Idea opens Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Peter Robertson Gallery in Edmonton and will run for two weeks in conjunction with the 2012 CONSNP conference (being held at the University of Alberta).  More about the exhibition will be posted on the Peter Robertson Gallery website closer to the event.
I hope to build on The Big Idea, and further this collaboration with the Canadian Obesity Network, with an eye on creating new artistic and research partnerships for the Vancouver 2013 CON conference.

With best wishes for continued success,

Julian Forrest
Curator, The Big Idea
